Indian Businessman Wears Pure Gold Face Mask For Better Protection From The Pandemic

This Indian man has spent nearly 3 lakhs of Indian rupees to have a customized gold face mask to help him prevent the disease.

Recently, an Indian man said that he paid a big sum to buy a customized gold face mask to protect himself from the emerging highly contagious pandemic that has been creating turmoil across the nation.

The bespoke mask is reported to cost him a whole US $4,000 which equals almost 3 lakhs of Indian rupees.

The viral face mask is made of pure gold

The man in the story – businessman Shankar Kurhade who is hailed from the western city of Pune, said that the metal covering is 60g heavy and it took the craftsmen one week and one day to make.

He added that the gold face mask is thin and it includes tiny pores that help him to breathe.

Shankar Kurhade said,

"I am not sure if it will be effective to protect me from a coronavirus infection, but I am taking other precautions."

While heading out, the 49-year-old businessman says that he likes wearing gold jewelry that weighs a kilogram, consisting of a necklace, bracelet along with rings on every single finger of his right hand.

Kurhade - whose company makes industrial sheds - said he got the idea for the gold face mask after seeing a media report about a man wearing one made from silver.

He also said that people have been asking him for selfies whenever he is out. They are impressed when seeing him wearing this gold face mask to markets.

They have now recorded more than 720,000 infected cases to date with over 20,000 fatalities.
