Though a strict lockdown order has been imposed on all Indian populations, people can’t just stay home to survive. They still need to go outside for essential supplies, remaining the risk of infection if in contact with the virus source. That’s why, Starbiz brings here important tips to keep coronavirus out of your house!
You may already know that this virus can live on surfaces for up to 3 days. To eliminate them, you had better clean your home thoroughly and pay more attention to these places!
1 – Clean the high-touch surfaces around your home
They are doorknobs, switches, remotes, faucets, toilets, kids toys, keyboards and phones. If these places contain Covid-19, your family is highly at risk as you touch them hundred times per day.
- Use soap and water or detergent to clean surfaces.
- Use EPA-approved chemicals or disinfectants to remove the virus, instead of cleaning them only.
If you don’t have these products, make a homemade mixture of bleach and water to spray onto these surfaces and wipe.
2 – Use gloves when cleaning your home
Ironically some people clean surfaces thoroughly but couldn’t keep their hands clean while your hands are the places that need most protection.
If you don’t have gloves, wash your hands with soap for 30 seconds after you’ve done with cleaning up.
During the procedure, don’t touch your face, particularly your eyes, nose and mouth.
3 – Wash your clothes
If possible, set the warmest water setting and complete dry mode. This is to make sure the virus can’t survive when you take clothes out of the washing machine.
You must also wash the container or bag that you use to keep dirty clothes.
4 – Disinfect packages
During the lockdown, delivery services witness a surge while people need to be aware of another risk from goods packages.
According to research, coronavirus can live on cardboard for 24 hours. That’s why you should disinfect any package or box with disinfectant to kill the germs.
5 – Wash hands
I guess you don’t need to be reminded of this anymore but still, washing your hands regularly and refrain from touching your face is the most effective measure.
Stay at home, stay safe and together we push back the coronavirus!
