American iconic actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have announced that they are diagnosed with coronavirus. The news has been breaking the Internet since its announcement.

Actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), as per his own statement. The couple is among the first celebrities to laid bare with the diagnosis.
The 63-year-old stars pair were in Australia for the untitled Elvis Presley film’s production. In the Baz Luhrmann-directed movie, Tom Hanks is playing the role of Presley’s famous manager Colonel Tom Parker.

As unveiled as insiders, Wilson and Hanks were the only known people working on the movie to be infected with the disease. The flick is in the pre-production stages currently which means the cameras have not rolled and preparations for shooting are still in the making. Filmmakers and other members of the crew’s testing measures are currently unknown.
The distributor of the movie, Warner Bros., published a statement quickly after Tom Hanks and his wife went public. Their statement reads:
“We have been made aware that a company member from our Elvis feature film, which is currently in pre-production in The Gold Coast, Australia, has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus).
We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world. The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment.”
The news went on floors just when U.S President Donald Trump proclaimed a one-month armistice on traveling from Europe to the U.S because of the coronavirus spread. Previously on Wednesday, the WHO (World Health Organization) officially announced that COVID-19 is a global pandemic.
As of now, on a global scale, there have been over 126,000 cases of confirmed cases and the dangerous disease has claimed nearly 4,700 lives.
In conclusion, after Italian footballer Daniele Rugani of Juventus, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were the first celebrities to confirm they are diagnosed with COVID-19.
