'Octomom' Gives Birth To Eight Children At A Time, Breaking Record In Guiness Book

Eight children from a single pregnancy

Giving birth to eight kids at once, did it really happen? Although you may find it a bit too unconvincing, it is a real story with real people that made many jaws drop.

Nadya Suleman made headlines in January 2009 after she managed to bring octuplets – eight babies to the world from one single pregnancy. In fact, she conceived them via in vitro fertilization (IVF).

For the unknown, the Suleman eight kids are the second full set of octuplets born alive in the US. A week after being born, they surpassed the before worldwide survival rate for a whole octuplet set by the Chukwu kids in 1998.

Meanwhile, the woman faced backlashes after the media outlets claimed that Suleman had had six children and she could not afford to support all of them.

The Octomom case also garnered criticism from the medical ground as they raised questions regarding the ethics of implanting embryos in a woman who already gave birth to six babies.

Unbelievable as it was, the controversial story also led to an investigation of the involved fertility specialist by the Medical Board of California.

The special and happy family

Despite all the doubts from outsiders, the Octomom family still enjoys their life to the maximum.

The kids are growing up just fine and they are all 12 years old as of now. Nadya Suleman often shares updates of her kids on the family’s social media account.

On January 27 this year, the Octomom shared a snap of her eight children to celebrate their birthday. In the new post, one can see them dressing in different animal costumes and all looking cute. As they smiled adorably in the taken photo, it seems that they were eagerly waiting for the start of the festivities.

Noting a heartfelt caption on the special occasion, Nadya Suleman wrote,

“Happy 12th birthday to 8 of the most kind, caring, and respectful kids I have ever known. Your compassion for all living things and the value of humbly serving others is the definition of love. You make my heart full, and have blessed our lives abundantly. I'm honored to be your mother. I love you Noah, Maliyah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, and Makai. I know grandma would be incredibly proud and is lovingly looking down upon you from above.”
