People who don’t wear face masks in public in Delhi may be put in jail for up to 6 months, as per a new order by Chief Secretary Vijay Dev.

In an attempt to combat the spread of Coronavirus, the Indian government seems to have a more serious and strict way after ordering a 21-day nationwide lockdown. Now, people who don’t wear face masks in public in Delhi may be put in jail for up to 6 months, as per a new order by Chief Secretary Vijay Dev.

Not just this those who disobey the order by not wearing masks when stepping out of their house may get the fines from Rs 200 to Rs 1000. The violators will get zero tolerance and be punished strictly under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

Mask 1200 — Everyone has to obey the order unless you will be put in jail and get a huge fine

In fact, in the order, the Chief Secretary wrote, people working at the office, workshop and any site must wear face masks. No one is allowed to attend meetings or gatherings without masks.

Earlier, according to a survey conducted by the global public opinion and data company, YouGov, a majority of Indian people feel the need for extending the ongoing 3-week lockdown in their country. the sentiment might come from the fact that more Indians are more scared of the Coronavirus than they were a few weeks back.

India registered a total of 7447 confirmed cases across the country with 239 deaths. Maharashtra has turned out to be the epicenter of the pandemic with more than 1500 infected patients. Meanwhile, the recovered patients make up for a small percentage, at only 8%.
