Sharmila Tagore recently celebrated her 74th birthday on 8th December with the attendance of her husband Mansoor, son Saif and Kareena. On her birthday, take a quick look at her famous life and blissful pictures.

By the time Apur Sansar (The World Of Apu) of the great director - Satyajit Ray released, Sharmila Tagore was only 15 years old. Her aesthetic and artistic talents were believed to be inherited from her family tradition since she was known to have a distant relative with Tagore family and the notable Assamese character - Jnanadabhiram Barua.

Kashmir Ki Kali the movie became a blockbuster in 1964 when Sharmila was 20 years old. She quickly turned into a trendy actor with noticeable beauty of dimple and doe eyes. After the successful acting with Shammi Kapoor, she continued her flourishing career with other famous actresses like Rajesh Khanna, Chhoti Bahu, Amar Prem, Aradhana, Daag, Safar in several noteworthy Hindi films.

Not only work in Bollywood as a top actor, but Sharmila also took part in films from Bengali and Parallel. Abar Aranye (Gautam Ghose), Devi, Nayak (Satyajit Ray) and Aranyer Din Ratri are some movies which have Sharmila’s memorable roles.
