The staff let his dead body on the store floor, then covered with three umbrellas and several cardboard boxes to remain open for business like there was no tragic incident ever happened at the store.

Sales manager Manoel Moises Cavalcante suffered a heart attack at his workplace – a Carrefour Brasil store on 14 August. Even though first aid was instantly administered but he, unfortunately, passed away at 59. However, it would not make headlines if the staff closed the store right away to take care of their manager. Instead, they let his dead body on the store floor, then covered with three umbrellas and several cardboard boxes to remain open for business like there was no tragic incident ever happened at the store.

The shop workers still continued to welcome their customers and didn’t let them know that there was a dead body lying on the floor.

The fact is that the company is one of the biggest retail chains in Brazil. The representative of the store went on record to make clear that as soon as the late manager felt sick, they already gave him first aid and activated SAMU to rush to the rescue. He further added that after Cavalcante breathed his last, they followed the guidelines of the company to not remove his body from the place.

Many said that the action of the staff was disrespectful and the netizens have been urging an apology from this company after the pictures sparked anger among the public.

Meanwhile, the company also announced that it had updated the instruction that includes the mandatory immediate closing of the store to handle the rare situations with more respect and sensitivity.
