Every once in a while or even for the first time in history we see a Prime Minister kneeling in public. Recently, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made headlines as he appeared at an anti-racism protest taking place in the capital city Ottawa.

Trudeau could be seen showing up unexpectedly to hear speeches of activists. Everyone was stunned when seeing their PM joining the throng and even taking a knee for more than eight minutes (8:46s to be exact). It is also how long the American police officer held down the black man George Floyd with his knee leading to his death.

His act of solidarity came after he refused to confirm earlier in the day whether he would join the protest. Still, the Canadian Prime Minister arrived at Parliament Hill and didn’t forget to put on a cloth mask, surrounded by his security guards.

Check out the video below:

He wasn’t the speaker, as usual, he didn’t say anything instead. However, Trudeau clapped and nodded along with other speakers. At one point, the PM yelled “Amen” with other protesters after a speaker was promoting justice and love.

However, despite the appearance during the #BlackLivesMatter demonstration, some still shouted at him for standing up to US President Trump. This was because the Canadian leader took a 20-second pause when asked about Donald Trump.

The fact is that many celebrities across the world have spoken up against racism and showed their support for the protestors. Those in the US even hit the streets, joined the crowd, and became protestors. However, support from many world leaders has still been muted.

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau is the only one expressing his opinion (by action). What do you think about it? Let us know in the comment section below!
