Kangana Ranaut’s new biopic film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has been making noise since its announcement and sparked a protest among the Maharashtra Karni Sena. The outfit on Saturday sent a warning message to the lead actress if the image of Rani Laxmibai is maligned in the film. Kangana after that vigorously responded she will “destroy each one of them” if she is harassed.

In return, Ajay Singh Sengar – Maharashtra Karni Sena’s president announced: “If she continues to threaten the members of our outfit, we will not let her walk freely in Maharashtra and will burn her film sets.”

He further added the Hindu society is following up the film closely and if there is dissent content, Manikarnika will face severe consequences.

The historical film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi focus on the life of Rani Laxmi and her battle with the British East India Company at the background of the Indian Rebellion in 1857. The film is expected to hit the cinema on 25 January 2019.
