Vijay Deverakonda Fails To Put His Spell On Audiences Again

Vijay Deverakonda seems to be losing the magic which made him an overnight sensation in the Telugu film industry. What makes us say so? Well, his last few films have failed to perform at the ticket counter, incurring heavy losses to the makers. After the debacle of Dear Comrade in 2019, fans and trade pundits were expecting a lot from his latest film World Famous Lover. However, crushing all hopes, the romantic drama fell flat at the box-office.

World Famous Lover has turned out to be a total washout for Vijay Deverakonda. The fate of the film was predicted on the day of its release itself when it received poor response from critics and opened way below than the expectations. The movie failed to show any growth on Saturday or Sunday either. By then, the writing on the wall was clear that the Vijay Deverakonda starred has been rejected by the audience.

Looks like the Arjun Reddy (2017) star had the premonition about the fate of the film, because on the day of its release, he was in Mumbai shooting of his next film Fighter, which is being directed by Puri Jagannadh.

A source close to the actor revealed that at pre-release interviews of the movie, Deverakonda had said that one phase of his career was over and that he was going to start new one with Puri’s film. The source went on to add that the actor promoted the film as much as he could before the release, but on the day of the release, he decided to join the shoot of his next film in Mumbai.

Fighter is a multilingual film which will enter theatres in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Dharma Productions’ head honcho Karan Johar is co-producing the film along with Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur. Bollywood actress Ananya Panday plays the female lead opposite Vijay Deverakonda.
