Sivakarthikeyan Likely To Produce & Star In Tamil Remake Of “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo”

Sivakarthikeyan, according to reports, is mulling over the idea of buying the remake rights of Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and star in it.

Sivakarthikeyan is planning to acquire the remake rights of superhit Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramloo, several media outlets report. Apart from buying the remake rights, the actor may also choose to topline the yet to be titled Tamil remake.

Starring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun opposite Pooja Hegde, Ala Vaikunthapurramloo hit the marquee on 12th January, 2020, and emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of Tollywood ever. Sivakarthikeyan feels that the film has a great potential to be a huge money spinner in Tamil and hence, he is keen to remake the film. However, the actor is yet to make any official announcement on the remake.

Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in Tamil superhero film Hero (2019), has some exciting projects on his platter at the moment. His next release will be a sci-fi thriller, titled Ayalaan. Directed by Ravi Kumar, the upcoming project revolves around a lost alien who befriends the character played by Sivakarthikeyan. According to reports, Ayalaan had been shelved a year ago, but it finally hit the shooting floor in February this year.

The high-profile project has been planned on a lavish scale. 24 AM Studios, the banner bankrolling the film, recently shared a picture from the sets and wrote on their Twitter handle that they were happy to have kick-started the last two schedules of their production No. 5 after a brief gap.

Actress Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to play the female lead. Reportedly, she essays the character of an astronomer. Isha Koppikar, who makes her comeback to Tamil cinema after a massive gap of two decades, plays an assassin in the movie.

In addition to Ayalaan, Sivakarthikeyan also fronts the cast of the upcoming Tamil comic-caper Doctor. The film will be directed by director Nelson, who shot to instant fame after the huge success of Kolamavu Kokila (2018), a black crime comedy featuring Nayanthara in the lead role.
