Indian 2 is a Tamil action movie directed by Shankar. After such a long time, Kamal Haasan is back with a sequel from the original Indian (1996) which leaves the fans with full of anticipation. At the final episode of Bigg Boss Tamil, the making of Indian 2 was confirmed by Kamal. The movie is going to be a bilingual one using both Tamil and Telugu language.

The moment the first poster of Indian 2 released, it immediately took the internet by storm. In the poster, we could see Kamal Haasan but with an out-of-focus view. According to Shankar, there will be another poster on Friday. Based on several sources in the industry, Siddharth is going to play a key role in the drama. However, it was totally unexpected that Siddharth got the role because it was said to be Simbu's place at first.

At the very beginning, Silambarasan "Simbu" Thesingu Rajendar was rumored to take a role in Indian 2. He was said to be the grandson of Senapathi, the lead character playing by Kamal Haasan. However, Simbu is no longer a part of the project even before the news of the main cast is confirmed.

In fact, the filmmakers did want to offer Simbu the role. Later, due to unexpected circumstances, they had to change the plan and gave the character to actor Siddharth. At present, the details have not yet released. Based on an entertainment report, it seemed that there were some settlement matters between Simbu and Lyca Productions, which is also the production of Indian 2. It may be related to the actor's dues because Lyca could not solve the problems. Until everything is alright, Simbu will not join in any new project of Lyca.
