Prabhas Took 20% Pay Cut For "Saaho", Says Makers Invested Money Without Thinking Of What They Would Earn

South Star Prabhas has become a superstar after Baahubali's huge success. The South Indian film industry superstar will be seen next in the big-budget film Saaho, the film which has been doubted as India's biggest action thriller.

Starring alongside Shraddha Kapoor, the film is slated for a release on August 30. The actor has received tremendous response from the audience so far.

The buzz surrounding the film Saaho is such that its theatrical rights for the AP and Nizam circuit have been sold for a record Rs 125 crore, beating the earlier record of Rs 122 crore set by Baahubali 2.
In a scenario such as this, one would think that Prabhas would have charged a bomb for the film, especially after delivering a box-office monster in Baahubali 2, the biggest Indian blockbuster ever.

Rumors are doing the rounds that the actor has been paid a staggering Rs 100 crore for the film. But in a recent interview with a tabloid, he revealed that he did not charge his usual fee and in fact, had taken a 20 percent cut.

Prabhas has been quoted saying, “Baahubali has set the bar high, but Saaho was a Rs 250 crore film so I knew I couldn’t charge my usual remuneration. I started with a 20 percent cut. Then, the film went slightly over and though my friends were ready to pay up, I couldn’t take their money knowing they were putting in so much without thinking of what they would earn.”

Rumors are rife that Prabhas is planning to tie the knot with his alleged girlfriend and Telugu actress Anushka Shetty after the release of Saaho. Opening up about the same, the actor said, “Anushka and I are very good friends but if there was something more, wouldn’t someone have spotted us together in the last two years? The question was posed to me on Karan Johar’s show too. I let Rajamouli and Rana (Daggubati, Baahubali co-star) answer it and even they stated that there was nothing between us. It wasn’t as if I had prepared them.”

Saaho, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Chunky Panday, Murali Sharma, Arun Vijay and Mahesh Manjrekar in important roles, is slated to hit the screens on August 30.
