Pooja Hegde & Akhil Akkineni’s “Most Eligible Bachelor” Postponed Due To Coronavirus

Pooja Hegde and Akhil Akkineni were awaiting the release of their much-awaited film Most Eligible Bachelor with bated breath. Helmed by filmmaker Bhaskar, the movie was scheduled to enter theatres in April. But due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the makers had to call off the release.

If fresh reports are to be believed, Most Eligible Bachelor has been pushed ahead by five months. Since almost everyone is certain that audiences will not be rushing back to theatres soon after the lockdown is lifted, a lot of filmmakers are opting for new release dates in the fourth quarter of the year or towards the end of the year. So, the Pooja Hegde and Akhil Akkineni starrer will now arrive in theatres in October to coincide with the festival of Dussehra.

As the entire entertainment industry continues to cope with the Coronavirus crisis, a number of filmmakers are busy postponing their films and looking for new release date on the calendar. Love Story, Jaan, Vakeel Saab and RED are some of the upcoming Telugu films which have been postponed due to Coronavirus.

Most Eligible Bachelor, which has been bankrolled under the banner of GA2 Pictures, has been in news even before it began production. Akhil Akkineni stars in the role of a bachelor Nagarjuna Pandey, while Pooja Hegde plays his love interest. This will be the first film where the two actors star together. In addition to them, the movie also features Murali Sharma, Aamani, Vennela Kishore, Jayaprakash, Pragathi and Amit Tiwari in important supporting roles.

Apart from Most Eligible Bachelor, Pooja Hegde has two more high-profile films in her pocket. She next stars opposite Prabhas in director Radhakrishnan Kumar’s multilingual directorial, tentatively Jaan. In Bollywood, she is gearing up to romance megastar Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kabhi Ek Kabhi Diwali.
