Singer Adam Schlesinger Passes Away Due To Coronavirus At 52

'Fountains Of Wayne' member Adam Schlesinger has made everyone including Tom Hanks feel mournful of his death due to coronavirus.

Emmy and Grammy-winning singer Adam Schlesinger passed away after testing positive for coronavirus at the age of 52. He was also a songwriter and carved a niche for himself when being a member of the rock band Fountains of Wayne.

Mourning the singer's demise, Hollywood star Tom Hanks who was recently confirmed to get an infection with COVID-19 tweeted:

Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional also expressed his condolence after hearing Schlesinger's death:

"I knew him best as a mentor, and a friend. We must take this seriously. People are sick and dying. It is hard to stay locked indoors but lives will be saved. Take care of each other. Rest In Peace, my dear friend."

Furthermore, songwriter Diane Warren also showed his gratitude to the Grammy-winning singer's songs and prayed for his family.

The singer was the co-composer and bass player of rock band Fountains Of Wayne in the 1990s. He and his band gave a lot of hits including Hey Julie and Stacy's Mom. Apart from it, Adam Schlesinger was a stellar nominee for every major award at that time such as Grammys, Golden Globes, Emmys, and Tonys.

In 2009, he bagged the Grammy award for his song A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! Besides, he was also awarded three Emmys. Schlesinger was the composer of the title track of film That Thing You Do which featured Tom Hanks. With the title track, he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar.

Meanwhile, actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were detected with coronavirus when they were in Australia in March. After two weeks of isolation, the two have come back to their US home.
