COVID-19 Pandemic: Chinese Diplomat Says US Army Brought The Virus To Wuhan

Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire and there is no two ways about it. Speculations are rife on the question where is the root of this deadly virus. Recently a Chinese diplomat went on record to claim that this novel coronavirus may have stemmed from the United States instead of China where is initially said to be home to COVID-19.

Zhao Lijian, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, has promoted a conspiracy theory that the US military could have delivered the virus to China. Tweeting to his over 300,000 followers, Lijian republished a video of the Director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Robert Redfield who acknowledged that some American people who have died of the flu were identified as cases of Coronavirus.

In fact, the Communist Party-backed Global Times of China also further added that the States is likely to have misdiagnosed around 37,000 Coronavirus influenza deaths.

In October 2019, Wuhan welcomed hundreds of athletes from the US military for the Military World Games.

For those who are unversed, the first case tested positive for Coronavirus was confirmed in Wuhan city, Hobei province, China in December 2019. It’s believed that this virus was originally from wild animals then transmitted to humans.

However, the World Health Organization has stated that the path that the virus took between aminals and humans is unclear until now. On 12 March, the WHO officially declared the COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic.

The viral disease has swept into at least 114 countries across the world and killed over 4000 people. A woman from Delhi died on Friday and becomes the second fatality because of Coronavirus in India. The number of coronavirus cases rose to 81 on Fridays including one Canadian and 16 Italians.
