Chris Hemsworth shared his interesting transformation for his role in the biggest global opening film of all-time Avengers: Endgame. The 2-billion-dollar movie was in the theater on April 2019 and got a huge revenue beyond everybody’s imagination. This superhero flick was not only satisfied Marvel’s fan by action scenes but also by plot twists throughout the movie.

In Endgame, all member of the Avengers had changed after the defeat with Thanos in Infinity War. And with the role of Thor, it was a physical transformation that made everyone shock: The charming Thor became the fat Thor. He gained lots of pounds because of depression. Thor lost everything and that broke him into pieces. To play as Thor, Hemsworth had to undergo a very ponderous process and he just shared about it in a new behind the scenes of Avenger: End Game.

About the new version of Thor, the one with all of fun and liberating, Hemsworth seemed thrilled in the video posted by IGN as cited by People. He also shared they had a sort of fat suit which is about 60 or 70 pounds, and it was the hottest one he had ever been.

The crew also gave more body hair than before for Hemsworth, such as a large bushy beard or the hair. These things sometimes went in his mouth a bit and made a tiny effect on his voice. But according to Hemsworth, it was also a good way because of making a different Thor.

According to Hemsworth, it physically took three hours in hair and makeup and then the 90 pounds silicone suit, for the shirt-off scene. “It was certainly exhausting” he confessed. He had weights on his hands and ankles just to have his arms and legs swing differently when he shuffled along through the set. 

Valkyrie or actress Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth’s co-star said he was fun to work with the suit. Chris wanted to find something new for his character and that was a chance with our dexterity Hemsworth. She also shared that Chris was super hilarious and full of lovely energy.

About the new version of Thor, Hemsworth opened up in Variety’s cover story that he enjoyed a lot. This one of Thor was so different from any others. And in the end, Hemsworth thought it took on a life of its own.

Chris joked the reason why Thor had the transformation in Endgame was because of his depression in May. On The Graham Norton Show, Hemsworth told every time he had stepped toward the catering truck, everybody was, “No, no”. After the role, Hemsworth received different threats from others. The reaction to those closest to him was immediate, he said.

Chris said that sometimes he felt like Santa Claus. Because people just came up and tried to sit on his lap, cuddle him, or rubbed his belly like he was pregnant. He also seemed to be an old man, an old grandpa with kids around.

Not only the kids but also adult people also wanted to cuddle our Fat Thor, for example, his wife, the pregnant ladies in the supermarket. "I got a lot of cuddles,” he said. And also Robert Downey gave him a fair share of those! He also added he got a few Avengers in his lap from time to time.
