"Avengers: Endgame" Makes History In India, One Million Tickets Sold In Just Over A Day!

One of the most anticipated Hollywood blockbuster of the year Avengers: Endgame has achieved a milestone which none of the big Bollywood has been able to achieve. According to online ticket booking site BookMyShow, it has witnessed a record advance ticket sale with one million tickets sold in just over a day even before the film releases in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. This sale has set a box office record of sorts at the ticket windows. At the highest point, 18 tickets were booked per second when its booking opened on an online portal.

Ashish Saksena, COO - Cinemas, BookMyShow, said, "The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a massive fan following across the world and over the years, has emerged as one of the most followed movie franchises in India as well. The prequel - Avengers: Infinity War broke all records and saw the biggest worldwide opening of all time. The concluding part in the franchise - Avengers: Endgame - is creating waves on BookMyShow before its release, with over a million tickets already sold, and we expect the film to break more records as cinemas continue to open the advance bookings."

Avengers: Endgame is a movie that has had an incredible 11 years of buildup. All the 21 films that preceded it in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been leading up to Endgame. It caps off phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ending the story that began with 2008’s Iron Man. The remaining superheroes will take the fight to Thanos, and also find a way to bring back other superheroes who turned to dust after the devasting snap.
