As prevention is always better than cure, one of the best ways to fight against coronavirus is to try not to be infected. Indeed, apart from having good personal hygiene and avoiding public places, strengthening your immune system is crucial. PM Narendra Modi shares the same idea as last Wednesday, one week after the start of India total lockdown, he came to social media handle revealing the simple and effective preventive measure which is improving body immunity.
In fact, he shared a graphic of the Ministry of Ayush which included 3 easy steps to enhance the natural defense system of the body, according to Ayurveda. These measures have been proven to have a certain impact on the respiratory system. He also recommended people to practice those steps every day. ‘After all, good health is the harbinger of happiness,’ said PM Modi.
Here are the key points of having a healthy immune system, according to Ayurveda publications.
1. Drinking warm water
Providing your body a sufficient amount of water will detox your body and keep you stay hydrated and healthy all day long.
2. Using ayurvedic herbs
Popular ayurvedic herbs like haldi (turmeric), dhaniya (coriander), lahsun (garlic) and jeera (cumin seeds) can help improve your immune system. All of them can be added to your daily diet.
3. The power of Ayurveda in strengthening the body defense system
Apart from taking 10 gm (1 tsp) of Chyavanprash every day, drinking herbal tea also helps improve your health condition. A cup of ginger, dalchini, tulsi, kalimirch with sugar or lemon juice is not only tasty but healthy.
In addition to that, the prime minister also pointed out the benefit of Haldi Doodh and suggested people adding the golden milk into their daily diet.
4. Coping up with sore throat and cough
A mixture of steam inhalation, ajwain seeds and with pudina leaves is the best cure to comfort your irritating throat while cloves powder and honey combination also functions well in treating dry cough. However, if your body shows some heavy symptoms, please go for a medical check-up or ask a doctor for advice.
