8 Times "Queen of Controversy" Kangana Ranaut And Her Bold Statements Make The Headlines

Kangana Ranaut is a talented Bollywood actress with several successful movies namely Gangster (2006), Fashion (2008), Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Queen (2014). Besides, she is known as an outspoken star, who never keeps any secrets regarding her relationships so far. Here are 8 times when Kangana Ranaut hit the headlines for her controversial statements.

Kangana Ranaut and Aditya Pancholi

Kangana Ranaut charged actor Aditya Pancholi for domestic abuse and illegal detention. She reportedly told that she was beaten up by a man whose daughter is a year older than her.

Kangana and Adhyayan Suman

Kangana ended the relationship with co-star Adhyayan Suman after her ex-boyfriend claimed that she abused him and did black magic. Their spat quickly received lots of attention from the mass media.

Kangana and Ajay Devgn

During filming for Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, the news of her rumored affair with co-star Ajay Devgn made quite a splash for a while. Subsequently, in an interview, she showed regret about being involved with a married man.

The cold war didn’t end when Kangana Ranaut was asked why she didn’t invite her ‘contemporary’ Deepika to the success bash of her “100 cr” film Tanu Weds Manu Returns; the actress said she asked Deepika but never got a response from her.

Her relationship with Hrithik Roshan became one of the most-talked and the ugliest affairs in Bollywood. They slapped each other with legal notices back in 2016, and there was a buzz that while they were filming for Krrish 3 (2013), Kangana admitted that they were in an affair whereas Hrithik denied it.

The makers of Aashiqui 3 reportedly wanted Kangana to play the lead role opposite Hrithik, but the Bang Bang actor told them to remove Kangana from the movie. This controversy was full of legal notices and exchange emails between them. When Simran’s first trailer was released, writer Apurva Asrani accused Kangana Ranaut of "arm-twisting" her way into getting an additional writing credit on the film although Kangana claimed she almost wrote the entire film.

The story started when Kangana called Karan “the flag bearer of nepotism” on his favorite chat show Koffee with Karan. That episode ignited the fire and made ‘nepotism’ a hot topic in the industry.

Speaking of #MeToo movement, Kangana Ranaut accused Vikas Bahl of sexual harassment and said that his behavior with her during Queen’s shooting was inappropriate. While speaking at We the Women summit, Sonam Kapoor was asked about Kangana’s #MeToo story, on which she said that sometimes it is difficult to take the actor seriously as she says many things. However, this did not go well with Kangana.

Kangana hit out at Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha and other top actresses for giving her the cold shoulder in Bollywood industry. In an interview with a leading publication, she said that while she showers praise on her contemporaries for delivering great performances, they choose to ignore her existence. Kangana Ranaut reportedly said Roshan deserves to be punished in the wake of the #MeToo movement due to “make false promises of love and marriage to a girl to get them into a relationship that is also a type of harassment.”

After a controversy over the directorial credits of Manikarnika, Sonu Sood, who played a pivotal role in the movie, quit it and a showdown with Kangana Ranaut happened. She, however, has slammed reports of a confrontation. She said, “When I never met him, never directed him, when did I have this showdown?”.

Ranaut called of her Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’s success bash in solidarity with 40 martyred Indian soldiers in terror attacks in Pulwama on Feb 14, 2019. Couple Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar also canceled an event in Pakistan due to the deadliest attack, but Ranaut still considered them as "anti-nationals."
