Recently, the famous Indian actor's untimely goodbye Chiranjeevi Sarja at the age of 39 has left the whole country shocked.

1. Chiranjeevi Sarja (1980 - 2020)

Popular Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, who also starred in Whistle, and Varadanayaka, came from a family of actors, died young of a heart attack recently.

The Bollywood actor was best known for his roles in 20 movies, including 2018's Amma I Love You and is survived by his actress wife of two years Meghana Raj. His sudden demise left everyone shocked. It is a sad day in Bollywood as we lost another bright young talent.

2. Sri Devi (1963-2018)

Sridevi, the first female superstar and one of the Indian film industry's most popular actresses, died suddenly at 54. The star breathed her last in the bathroom of her hotel room in Dubai, with the autopsy report citing 'accidental drowning' as the cause of death. Her death sent the film industry into shock and left her husband, Boney Kapoor, and two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi, in mourning.

Sridevi began her career as a child actor at age 4 with Tamil movie Kandan Karunai and acted in 300 films in a career spanning over 5 decades.

3. Jiah Khan (‎2007–2013)

Jiah Khan, who once had a promising career ahead of her, committed suicide on 3 June 2013, in Mumbai's Juhu. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her apartment, speculations are abuzz to this day whether it was suicide or murder.

At the age of 18, she was cast opposite one of the big names in Bollywood - Amitabh Bachchan in the controversial Ram Gopal Verma romantic thriller Nishabd. With Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan and Housefull opposite Akshay Kumar, Jiah had achieved notable success in her career. The beautiful and sensuous actor might be gone, but she is definitely not forgotten.

4. Divya Bharti (1974 – 1993)

One of the talented Bollywood stars who died young remained a mystery is Divya Bharti. The actress who was at the peak of her career lost her life on 5 April 1993 due to head injuries after falling off the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment in Mumbai. There were many speculations and conspiracy theories abound her death.

Divya Bharti’s short but eventful life was a stuff of legends, in some ways. Starting out when still in her teenage, her first film itself Bobbili Raju (1990), opposite Venkatesh was a massive hit. She was a Bollywood outsider who made it big not only in Bollywood but in Telugu films too.

5. Madhubala (1933 – 1969)

Madhubala was one of the biggest divas Bollywood has ever seen who mesmerized the audience not only with her acting skills but also lit up the screens with her elegance, grace, and poise. She was often compared to Marilyn Monroe and is often addressed as one of the biggest stars in the Hindi film industry.

Just at the age of 14, Madhubala teamed up with Raj Kapoor and became a household name with her performances in films like Mahal, Amar, and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi. From then, till her death, she continued to dominate the Hindi film industry. She died at the age of 36, but will always be remembered for her beauty and acting, and the sad part of her life will always stay etched in people’s hearts.

6. Smita Patil (1955 - 1986)

One of the finest theater and film actresses to have graced the Indian artistic scene; Smita Patil was the epitome of beauty and talent. Right from her debut film Bhumika to Namak Halal and even Mirch Masala, Smita Patil remains one of the most loved actresses in b-town. During her acting career, she was honored with a number of awards including two National Film Awards, and was a recipient of Padma Shri in 1985.

Legendary actress Smita Patil passed away on December 13, 1986, due to childbirth complications.

7. Guru Dutt (1925 - 1964)

No talk on Indian cinema is complete without the mention of Guru Dutt. He falls in the list of the most iconic filmmakers and actors of Bollywood. During his short 39-year lifespan, he did less than 50 films and yet shone like a beacon in the history of Indian cinema. One of his most memorable films, Pyaasa, figures in Time magazine’s All-Time 100 best movies list.

However, when Dutt’s career was slipping away from his hands, he chose to commit suicide at the age of 39. Guru Dutt is one of the Bollywood stars who died young leaving biggest loss in the film industry.

8. Pratyusha Banerjee (1991– 2016)

The Balika Vadhu fame actor passed away at the age of 24 and is one of the youngest Bollywood stars who died young. The actress, who became a household name after she appeared on the hit show Balika Vadhu as Anandi, ended her life in 2016, and had left a gaping hole in the Indian television industry.

Pratyusha was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her residence located in Goregaon. If reports are anything to go by, the actress was unhappy due to financial and emotional crises with her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.

9. Soundarya (1972 –2004)

Soundarya is one of the finest actresses of Indian cinema and still is remembered with her impeccable emoting skills and delightful screen-presence. Though it's been 16 years since the talented actress left us, her memories remain fresh. She had established herself as a potential actress in many film industries and acted with some of the biggest stars such as Vishnuvardhan, Anant Nag, and Ravichandran.

The actress took her last breath in an unfortunate plane crash. Sadly, she was two-month pregnant at the time of death.

10. Vinod Mehra ( 1945 - 1990)

Another actor in the galaxy of Bollywood stars who died young much before his time due to a heart attack at the age of 45 in 1990 was Vinod Mehra. Born with a beautiful face and a handsome personality, the renowned actor lived in everyone’s heart.

Vinod Mehra appeared first as a child artiste in the film Raagni in the 1950s and after this, he didn't stop and gained his popularity from films like Ghar, Anurodh, Anuraag, Naagin, Pyaar Ki Jeet, among many others.
