Tamannaah made her Hindi film debut with an unremarkable film titled “Chand Sa Roshan Chehra” (2005). However, she will soon reclaim her spotlight with Jigarthanda cast in a remake version. Read more details below!

Tamannaah may not have a successful career in Hindi films, but she enjoys a great fan following among the Hindi speaking audience. According to reports, Tamannaah will join Jigarthanda cast for the remake movie.

The actress made Hindi film debut with a run-of-the-mill film titled Chand Sa Roshan Chehra (2005) and went on to appear in such Bollywood films as Himmatwala (2013), Humshukals (2014) and Entertainment (2014). Unfortunately, none of her Hindi films ever clicked with the audience. Her last Bollywood release Khamoshi (2019), which hit the marquee a couple of weeks ago, too fell flat at the ticket window.

In spite of her poor track-record in Hindi cinema, Tamannaah is still a favourite of several filmmakers in Bollywood. She was most recently confirmed to romance National Film Award winner Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Bole Chudiyan.

And the latest we have learnt that she has also been signed on to play the female lead in the Hindi remake of blockbuster Tamil film Jigarthanda (2014).

According to reports, the remake rights of Jigarthanda lie with Ajay Devgn with whom Tamannaah worked in the 2013 film Himmatwala. Initially, Sanjay Dutt and Farhan Akhtar were rumoured to be in talks to play male leads in the film.

However, if the latest reports are to be believed, Kartik Aaryan might be signed for the role which was first offered to Farhan Akhtar. As for the female lead, Tamannaah has been locked to play the part among Jigarthanda cast.

Starring Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Lekshmi Menon in lead roles, Jigarthanda cast is considered the major factor to make this movie a masterpiece and one of the most critically acclaimed Tamil films ever. Made on a shoestring budget of ₹ 10 crores, the movie went on to garner more than ₹ 35 crores at the domestic box-office. Apart from Hindi, plans for a Telugu remake of the musical gangster drama are also underway.
