Sara Ali Khan And Varun Dhawan To Collaborate In Coolie No. 1 Remake

Rumor has it that Sara Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan will play the main roles in the Coolie No. 1 remake, a big hit of director David Dhawan.

Judwaa 2, directed by David Dhawan, was a massive blockbuster film starring one of India’s highest-paid actor Varun Dhawan and has earned 200 million crores at the box office until now. Contributing to its success, director David Dhawan said he wanted to remake one of the greatest films that he made, Coolie No.1, with Varun Dhawan. Actress Sara Ali Khan is rumored to play the character of Karisma Kapoor.

Sara Ali Khan is a rising star who has gained much popularity recently after her first films Simmba and Kedarnath, which did wonder on the box office. One source from the industry revealed that Sara might be the main candidate for the main female role in the film Coolie No. 1. Moreover, energetic and cheerful personality will be a perfect match with the overflowing energy of Varun. A while ago, on a talk show hosted by Karan Johar, Sara shared that she had been dreaming of featuring on a film with Varun Dhawan. It seems that her dream will come true.

Directed by David Dhawan, Coolie No. 1 is an Indian Hindi comedy film with the starring of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. In this film, the father of Malti (played by Karisma) wants her to marry into the richest family, and he rejects the person that Gharjode, a matchmaker, introduces to him. Gharjode then meets a coolie called Raju (Govinda), they pretend to be a rich family and force Raju to tie the knot with Malti, which leads to many hilarious situations afterwards.

Sara Ali Khan made a remarkably successful debut with the film Kedarnath which earned more than 50 crores. Despite the fact that the film received mixed reviews, Sara was praised for her excellent acting.

A month after that, the next film of Sara – Simmba - was released and surpassed 200 crores at the box office.
