Priyanka Chopra Changes Name On Instagram, Celebrates Her Inclusion in Forbes 100

Priyanka Chopra has wasted no time in taking her husband's last name as she changed her Instagram name: Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Just a few days after her wedding to American singer Nick Jonas, the famous Bollywood Priyanka Chopra has changed her account on Instagram into Priyanka Chopra Jonas by adding her husband's famous last name. Her username remains as @priyankachopra and her profiles on Twitter and Facebook keep unchanged.

The 36-year-old actress now has 30 million followers on Instagram and changed her new name on Thursday. Meanwhile, Nick doesn't go Anand Ahuja, Sonam Kapoor’s husband route, he still remains the same name.

The couple has had a super busy week. Prior to the wedding, they celebrated the union at a Mehendi to get henna tattoos on their hands, and a Sangeet with families. On 1 December, they hosted a Western wedding at the luxurious Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.  And the stars wed again in a Hindu ceremony at the palace on the next day. Chopra and Jonas kept the fun going at a wedding reception in Delhi, which was attended by PM Narendra Modi. He took to social media.

However, the couple's wedding has triggered a controversy since New York Magazine’s The Cut published an op-ed on Tuesday, December 4, that suggested “married into a fraudulent relationship” and Chopra is a “scam artist.” The couple’s friends and in-laws, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and her partner Joe Jonas, were among those to condemn the article. The Cut later apologized and removed the article.

Chopra herself has responded, “I don’t even want to react or comment. These kinds of random things can’t disturb it.”, speaking to Hindustan Times.
