Kareena Kapoor Opens Up About Her Break Up With Shahid Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor were passionate lovers in the Bollywood industry. But things went kaput in 2006 just after their alleged MMS clip went viral on the internet. Neither of them spoke openly about their break up but now Kareena Kapoor in an interview with Film Companion’s Anupama Chopra revealed that Shahid had coaxed her to take up Jab We Met as a project with him.

Kareena Kapoor was excited to work on film Tashan in which she had bagged a lead role. But Shahid asked her to consider Jab We Met which went to become a life changing film. Tashan however changed her life when she met Saif Ali Khan on the sets and now they are a happily married couple. It was after the break up that Kareena had met Saif on sets on Tashan which led to setting up their frequency with each other.

Kareena Kapoor said that Shahid reached out to her and asked to read the script of Imtiaz Ali led film Jab We Met. They both did the film together and it became one of the best romantic film for both of them. However, things did not ended happily after few months and the couple ended their relationship. Kareena feels that the destiny had its own plans and both parted ways. Things changed in their lives between the making of film Tashan.

The actress also said that film Tashan managed to change her life because she met Saif. Tashan bombed at the Box office and failed to impress the audience. However, she is happy that she met the man of her dreams and married him. But her relationship with Shahid took its own course and both went to separate ways. Well, several speculations were made during the break up period of couple. There were allegations of drug and physical abuse attached to the rumours but the controversy ended when time took over.
