Kangana Ranaut To Play Lead Role In Al Vijay's Jayalalithaa Biopic "Thalaivi"

After delivering a hit with the period film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Kangana Ranaut will be soon seen as the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Following the success of the period drama Manikarnika: The Queen of JhansiKangana Ranaut rushed into her new project. It’s the first time for the 32-year-old actress to star in a biopic film which tells the story of Jayalalithaa, the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. The production house and the actress confirmed the news last Saturday, right on her birthday.

According to the same source, the upcoming biopic will be available in two languages with different titles. It will be called Jaya in Hindi while Thalaivi in Tamil. In addition to that, director AL Vijay will helm the movie. He is also well-known for films like Deiva Thirumagal and Madrasapattinam.

Talking about Jayalalithaa, the director mentioned her as “the most prominent leaders” of the country. That’s why he considered the film to be a big responsibility and promised to do it with utmost honesty and care. He also got excited working with Kangana Ranaut, one of the most talented stars of the industry. According to Vijay, there is none other than her who can fully portray the role of the dynamic leader.

Meanwhile, Kangana expressed her honour to star in this project, which focuses on the life of the most successful woman of the century. She also believed that the life of the late politician would make the mainstream movie a great one.

Written by KV Vijayendra Prasad, who is also the writer of films like  Bajrangi Bhaijaan or Baahubali series, the movie is promised to be a super hit. It will be produced under the banner of Vibri & Karma Media and Entertainment with Shaailesh R Singh and Vishnu Vardhan Induri as producers.
