Ishaan Khatter & Ananya Panday To Headline “Khaali Peeli”

Ishaan Khatter, who was last seen in Dharma Productions’ romantic film Dhadak (2018) more than a year ago, has finally bagged his next film. Titled Khaali Peeli, the project was announced earlier today.

Besides Khatter, it also stars newcomer Ananya Panday who made her acting debut with Dharma Productions’ Student of the Year (2019).

Khaali Peeli marks the maiden production venture of well-known director Ali Abbas Zafar who is known for such blockbusters as Sultan (2016), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Bharat (2019). Speculations about him turning producer have been around for quite some time now. But today, things got official when he announced the project along with sharing its first-look poster.

Ishaan Khatter also shared the first-look of the film on Instagram with the caption,

In the poster, Ishaan Khatter can be seen flaunting his chiselled body and flashing six-pack abs with a stern look on his face.

Ananya Panday, wearing a crop top and shorts, is looking lovingly into his eyes. The two are leaning on to a taxi parked behind them. The film seems to be based on the lead pair’s one night journey.

Khaali Peeli is set to mount the shooting floor on September 11 and is scheduled to hit the marquee on June 12, 2020.

Maqbool Khan will make his directorial debut with the film. It is co-produced by Zee Studios, Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra.

Meanwhile, Ishaan Khatter also stars in Mira Nair’s webseries based on Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy (1993). The project also stars Tabu. Ananya Panday, on the other hand, is currently shooting for her next Pati Patni Aur Woh.
