The Indian-born Canadian actor, martial artist, the producer Akshay Kumar was born on September 9, 1967. The actor made his Bollywood debut with Raj Sippy's Saugandh opposite Raakhee and Shantipriya in 1991.

Baby
Akshay Kumar plays the role of an undercover officer in the 2015 Neeraj Pandey film. This action spy thriller shows the team named 'Baby' being directed to eliminate Terrorists who are looking forward to attacking India. The film also stars Rana Daggubatti, Danny Denzongpa and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
Pad Man
Based on a novel titled 'The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad' written by Twinkle Khanna, the film is inspired by real-life social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, a native of TamilNadu who invented low-cost sanitary napkins especially for women in rural areas.
The R Balki directorial in particular earned critical as well as commercial acclaim thanks to the message of spreading awareness about personal hygiene for women.
Featuring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in key roles, Padman did decent business and collected Rs 81.82 crore in India. PadMan also worked its charm in the Land of the Rising Sun, where there is little to no market for Bollywood films.
Pad Man received an award for Best Film on Other Social Issues. Akshay's performance in the film was critically praised, for which he received a Best Actor nomination at the 64th Filmfare Awards.
Gold
Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold is the tale of the first gold medal that India won as a free nation in the 1948 London Olympics. Akshay Kumar as Tapan Das plays the role of the team manager. The film also featured Kunal Kapoor and Amit Sadh and marked the Bollywood debut of television actor Mouni Roy.
Gold, which hit a total of 4000 screens in the country, garnered a collection in India of Rs 100.45 crore after 13 days.
Housefull
The film starred actors Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Jiah Khan, and Boman Irani. The first installment of the franchise was a laugh riot not only on-screen but off the sets too. Housefull is a romantic comedy narrating the story of Aarush - the world's unluckiest man.
The film might not have garnered great reviews but did well at the box-office and was the biggest opener of 2010. Nine years down the line, the film has evolved at the box office and paved way for Housefull 2, 3 and 4.
Toilet - Ek Prem Katha
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet Ek Prem Katha stars Bhumi Pednekar opposite Akshay Kumar. The two main characters, Jaya and Keshav, get married but the bride soon leaves as her in-laws do not have a toilet in their house. The husband then takes it on himself to ensure that his entire village gets toilets. The film is a fight for love, toilets and more.
Toilet Ek Prem Katha garnered Rs 134.22 crore, a feat that is extremely commendable for a film whose budget is about Rs 20 crore. The film received three nominations at the 63rd Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director for Narayan Singh and Best Actor for Akshay Kumar.
Akshay Kumar's upcoming projects include Housefull 4, Good News, Sooryavanshi and Laxmmi Bomb. He has also dabbled in television with reality shows like Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi and Seven Deadly Arts with Akshay Kumar.
On the personal front, Akshay married former actor and now a successful author, Twinkle Khanna in 2001 and together, they have two children—son Aarav and daughter Nitara. Twinkle may have given up on acting herself but she often helps Akshay decide which film to choose as his next.
