Dinesh Vijan Ecstatic As “Bala” Emerges As His Biggest Opener

Dinesh Vijan, one of the most successful filmmakers of Bollywood, is ecstatic as his latest film Bala (2019) has emerged as the biggest opener for his production house Maddock Films. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in lead roles, the film hit the marquee on 8^th November and has been doing terrific business at the box-office ever since.

The audience has showered immense love on the film. On its opening day, Bala registered an income of Rs. 10.15 crore at the domestic box-office. Collections spiked on Saturday as the film raked in an impressive Rs. 15.73 crore. Despite slight unrest in a couple of parts of the country owing to the Supreme Court’s historic decision on the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid case, the movie maintained the momentum and collected Rs. 18.07 crore on Sunday, taking its total collection to a staggering Rs. 43.95 crore in the opening weekend.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that after Luka Chuppi (2019) earlier this year, producer Dinesh Vijan has secured yet another box-office hit. Sharing his excitement about the overwhelming performance of his film, Dinesh Vijan said that this love and appreciation gives us the confidence to continue taking risks and backing great content. “This weekend has not only been special for Bala but also for us at Maddock films. It is the highest weekend for the company and it is truly overwhelming. Bala is directed by Amar Kaushik who made his powerful directorial debut with the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree (2018). The film revolves around a man who starts experiencing massive hair fall at the very young age of 25 years. The entire star cast has received overwhelming response for their performances in the movie.
