Bhumi Pednekar Makes Most Of The Year 2019

If there is one actress who made most of the year 2019, it has to be Bhumi Pednekar. The talented actress, who plunged into Bollywood with Yash Raj Films’ much-loved offering Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), did not only prove her versatility by picking up different characters, but also enjoyed great box-office success. 2019 has undoubtedly been one of the most successful years for Bhumi Pednekar.

The actress started the year with the Abhishek Chaubey directorial Sonchiriya, co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput. Though the film did not set the cash registers jingling at the box-office, Bhumi Pednekar did manage to garner praises for her performance in it. The dacoit drama also received great acclaim at various film festivals across the world. The actress says that it was very gratifying experience for her and she will always be proud of Sonchiriya.

Sand Ki Aankh, her second release of the year, did not only impress critics but audiences also and performed well at the box-office. Bhumi Pednekar says that she is proud of all her films. Saand Ki Aankh is special for her not only because it was such an inspiring story and one that gave her a chance to play a woman much older than her real age, but also because it gave her a friend in Taapsee Pannu, who played her sister-in-law in the film.

Her third film of the year Bala inflamed the box-office. However, Bhumi Pednekar received flak for colouring herself dark to play a dark-skinned woman in the Amar Kaushik directorial. Defending the character, she says that she trusted her director completely, who convinced Latika. She adds that there is so much more to her character in Bala than the skin colour. Her journey as a human being and a woman is so fascinating. She is glad that she played Latika.

Bhumi Pednekar caps off 2019 with Pati Patni Aur Woh. Also starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in central characters, the film has been doing phenomenal business ever since hitting the silver screen on 6^th December.
