Most popular Bollywood stars are taking advantage of the webspace and they have recently played in several intriguing film projects. The reason is that these plots are touching a deep chord in the hearts of the viewers, who is searching for something interesting and new every day.
Actors namely Saif Ali Khan, R Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saqib Saleem and Vikrant Massey have already shown their mettle on the big screens and enjoyed a loyal fanbase. These actors have been now on their way to revolutionize the digital platforms as well as tasted the sweetness of success.
Saif Ali Khan
Known as one of the first mainstream Bollywood stars to try his hands at the digital platforms with the movie named Sacred Game, the 48-year-old actor has garnered a lot of praises and admiration for his remarkable performance in the film. Helmed by Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, the series is based upon Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name.
Saif plays the role of a Mumbai police inspector called Sartaj Singh, who is forced to go into the spotlight after he is warned by the gangster called Ganesh Gaitonde (played by Siddiqui) that his city is in danger now. Also, the Netflix’s original Sacred Game has received numerous positive reviews from the critics and audience and it has been renewed for the next season.
In an interview with PTI, the actor had shared about stepping into the Netflix’s show.
R Madhavan
The talented actor enjoyed the web’s comfort after various outstanding box office hits throughout his acting career. Dabbling in the online contents with the psychological web series called Breathe on the Amazon Prime Video, Madhavan had been showered with praises for his realistic portrayal of a never-seen-before character in any digital show.
Directed by Mayank Sharma, Breathe is is one of India's first medical thrillers that explores the lives of ordinary men faced with extraordinary circumstances. In the film, R Madhavan plays as Danny Mascarenhas, a football coach and the father of a six-year-old child named Josh, who suffers from a life-threatening lung disorder and organ transplant is the only hope for Josh's survival.
Danny struggles as he sees his child in pain and makes a dangerous commitment to himself and walks down a path of no return.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui
The Netflix’s original Sacred Game also marked the digital debut of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In the series, the talented actor essays the role of a gangster named Ganesh Gaitonde, who has warned the police inspector Sartaj Singh (played by Saif Ali Khan) about what will happen in his city. Through this role, he left the audiences with a good impression.
His character, Ganesh Gaitonde created a lot of memes and video clips on the social media and his dialogues also went viral too. No need to say, fans are eager to see more of his humor in the season 2.
Vikrant Massey
Bollywood star Vikrant Massey may be considered as a favored web cynosure at the moment. The actor has always been commonly admired on both the big screens and the TV for his realistic, peculiar and genuine performances with brilliant quality. However, Vikrant’s recent web series earned him a first-rate reputation with a small yet powerful role in the film Mirzapur and an urban leader in the film Broken But Beautiful. Vikrant Massey is now preparing for his upcoming web series called Rise.
Saqib Saleem
Having showcased his versatility as an actor in the mainstream commercial movies, the actor-model graduated to the digital world as well as showed his ability in the role of a real life gangster named Shiv Prakash Shukla in the movie Rangbaaz. He has received unanimously great reviews and admiration from the critics, audience and industry for his north outstanding performance.
