Archana Puran Singh opens up about her pay when shooting The Kapil Sharma Show

The pay gap in Bollywood has been a thorny issue for years and now the TV show started to experience this problem. Judge Archana Puran Singh who made her appearance in The Kapil Sharma Show subtly mentioned her wage in the show on 6 April 2019.

It seems the comedian taunted the host of the show and producer Salman Khan for being paid less than the previous judge, former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu. Archana Puran Singh has stepped into shoes of the politician after his controversial statement regards the Pulwama attack.

Also on the episode on Saturday, John Abraham and Mouni Roy were invited as the guests to promote their upcoming film Romeo Akbar Walter. When being asked who Mouni Roy would want to become, she said Audrey Hepburn is her answer. Whereas John Abraham with the same question had a flattering response, said that he wanted to be like Kapil Sharma.

After that, Kapil Sharma had the same question for Archana Puran Singh. The judge then humorously responded that she would love to be Navjot Singh Sidhu because her pay was less than Sidhu in the same role.

According to report, Navjot Singh Sidhu was offered Rs 25 crore per season. On the contrary, Archana Puran Singh was paid relatively fewer Rs 2 crore per season. The comedian also charged the same amount for her appearance on Comedy Circus and this may cite the reason for her current paid at The Kapil Sharma Show as the person who replaces Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Comedian and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu recently has been the talk of the town with his controversial statement. He just criticized Bharatiya Janata Party for using the army as a tool for fighting the election. He is now has a lot on his plate with the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. So he will not return to the show anytime soon.
