Bollywood actress Ihana Dhillon is all set to play the role of a rape survivor who was allegedly attacked and raped which led her to a semi-comatose state. The web series Kasak will be an original for Ullu streaming platform. Ihana Dhillon was last seen in Hate Story 4 starring alongside Urvashi Rautela, Karan Wahi and Vivan Bhatena. The film was directed by Vishal Pandya.
The actress took to her social media accounts to announce that the entire cast and crew of Kasak have wrapped up shooting the first schedule of the series. Ihana Dhillon took to her official social media handle to share a picture of her along with the team of Kasak from the sets. While sharing the picture, the actress wrote: ‘"So 1st schedule is over for Kasak a new web series coming up very soon.!! what a lovely experience i had shooting with this team and playing the role of Sheetal, the intensity of this character got me to thinking how one must feel and face when something like this happens to one, so heartbreaking!but being an actor i had to really act upon it and live up to the character and justify. It wouldn’t have been possible without the team support, and i am truly thankful to everyone."
Ihana Dhillon said, "I am playing Sheetal, who is a nurse by profession. Her life took a tragic tragic turn after she was raped in the hospital, where she worked. She had spent the next four decades in a vegetative state after surviving a brutal sexual assault. It's a story of woman who has been brutally raped and manhandled and justice was always awaited." She further clarifies that she doesn't play Aruna Ramachandra Shanbaug but the story is somewhat inspired by it but it is not at all a biopic of sorts."
It terrifies Ihana to think that someone as pure as a professional as a nurse who literally gives life to people was so badly done . She says, "I was petrified to know of this and it troubled me to think what someone like her would have gone through and then i decided this is a story which needed to be told and hence i took the project."
