Hamari Bahu Silk, produced by Klay Pictures, is a Hindi soap-opera which aired on ZEE TV on 3rd June 2019 and ran till 8th November 2019. Though it has been close to half-a-year since the show beamed its final episode, several of its cast and crew members are still awaiting their payment. The ongoing lockdown has made the situation even worse.
Popular actor Zaan Khan, who played the male lead on Hamari Bahu Silk, recently shocked everyone when he took to his Instagram handle and revealed that the crew has not been paid their dues by the makers and is now threatening to commit suicide.
Sharing a picture of him and his co-star from Hamari Bahu Silk, Chahat Pandey, Khan wrote on Instagram that it is sad and shocking to know that the team of Hamari Bahu Silk has not been paid their dues till date. Also, the actors and technicians are threatening to commit suicide. The actor questioned that why does this happen all the time and why cannot broadcasters do something about the situation.
Zaan requested to all his actor friends and his fans to spread the word. He said that he is really sorry to be sharing this because he is someone who does not believe in negativity, but he just had to it this time. He said that he is doing this for him, his co-actors and his fellow technicians
The Hamari Bahu Silk star went on to add that he has worked with multiple production houses in her career like Balaji Telefilms, Sphere Origin, Four Lions Films, Fireworks, and many more but never has he had to deal with non-payment for the entire show. This is what the harsh reality of the industry is, he said in conclusion.
