The undeniable success of Game of Thrones

On April 17, 2011, Game of Thrones was first premiered on HBO, and not long after that, the show made history for the satellite TV network. Instead of the poetic name as A Song of Ice and Fire, HBO introduced a truncated version titled Game of Thrones. However, the HBO’s TV series was predicted to go off the rail after author George R. R. Martin decided to pull out of the show to focus on his book since season 6.

However, it’s an undeniable fact that HBO had successfully conveyed the story from season 1 to season 5 and the show has thrilled audiences all over the world. Back to season 1 when Game of Thrones first introduced, what enthralled the audience from the very first frame to the last was a bizarre storyline. In the game for the thrones, the story didn’t focus on any particular person; there was no main character because all people we think was the main character was killed from the very first page of the book. Moreover, in a fictional world which has supernatural forces like the God of Light, the Dragons, the witches, it is nothing to compare to human’s wily tactics to become the King of the Seven Kingdoms.

And indeed, with far less of a focus on epic fantasy with dragons and monster, it was mostly about political contests over the throne with surreptitious alliance-forming meetings. However, these interesting elements were removed after David Benioff and D. B. Weiss take all responsibility for the show without George R. R. Martin story.

How David Benioff and D. B. Weiss killed all the most interesting character in Game of Thrones

Since Game of Thrones season 1, the audience was deeply shocked when all key character was killed.

Robb Stark is an example, he is called Young Wolf by his soldier and his foe alike for his undisputed talent in the battlefield. He was the one who is much expected for the thrones but then he was killed in his ally’s trap. And there is much other death of key figure which isn’t illogical at all.

Ned Stark, Lord of Winterfell and the Warden of the North, died because of overestimating himself when threatening the powerful queen in her own land. Or the death of King Joffrey Baratheon - a ruthless king was foreseen.

However, since Littlefinger’s death in season 7, Game of Thrones has shown its weakness in the storyline Without George R. R. Martin’s consultant, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss has started struggling with the game of mind.

They didn’t know how to handle a super-intelligent character like Petys Baelish, Varys or Tyrion Lannister anymore, and it seems that they actually decided to kill their characters as the safest choice.

Lady Olenna Tyrell

To start season 6, the director picked Lady Olenna Tyrell - the most devious woman in seven kingdoms who has the second strongest army die in the hand of Jaime Lannister. The not-worth-to-watch fight in a couldn’t be more boring battle taken less than 3 minutes in the entire show.

What can be worse like the way David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have done?

All the wildest people in Game of Thrones suddenly look like a fool

Tyrion Lannister: It took 6 seasons for the dwarf Tyrion Lannister to be chosen as the hand of the queen for his mind. Nevertheless, the wisest man in seven kingdoms does nothing more than just drinking wines, admitting his stupid making-mistake and contributing to the loss of half the army which his queen has been building for years.

Tyrion Lannister not only is remembered for his intelligent but also his words of wisdom. Though the character George R.R. Martin took more than 20 years to build was destroyed by Game of Thrones director over the last recent season.

Jon Snow: Jon Snow is another showcase for David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’ horrible mistake. After watching Game of Thrones episode 5 season 8, the audience just couldn’t help but wonder what is this character all about? He was almost death thousands of time if his sister Sansa Stark didn’t have a hidden plan to rescue him from his definitely losing battle.

And when he actually died, people once again questioning the purpose of bringing him back from the hell? After the fight with Night King in episode 3, if he is removed from the show, it will not have a single impact on the result of the show.

Daenerys Targaryen: The most miserable character in Game of Thrones maybe not the one who died but the one who lives, and it’s Daenerys Targaryen. She is forced to fit into the role of a mad queen because that’s what David Benioff and D. B. Weiss could only think of.

Where is the queen who vowed to break the chain and reform the country in a better ruling system? Lastly, the merciful queen turned out to a mass murder just because of a blotchy script by Game of Thrones director.

A rushing script for commercial purpose ruin Game of Thrones?

It’s no exaggeration to say that Game of Thrones season 6, 7, 8 is a disaster and it all blamed the rushing script and HBO’s commercial purpose. If entire season 1 devoted to getting the North making their way to King’s Landing or Daenerys took all season to build her army and cross Narrow Sea, but Game of Thrones season 8 did “a magical things” to the entire show by let’s Daenerys flew to King’s landing and won the battle in less than an episode length.

Game Of Throne Season 8

To put it in the nutshell, author George R. R. Martin admitted that the first ideas for his book came out of nowhere in 1991 and he has been devoting more than 20 years of his life to complete the book. In an interview, the author of A Song Of Ice and Fire said that the showrunners may have ruined the ending.

From the book title, it says everything about the last great wall which is the war between life and death. However, it was cut off to an episode-length by the director and left audience hanging around Westeros questioning why the White Walker took 7 seasons in the show to land in Winterfell and was killed in the most unexpected way?
