Superstar Rajnikanth's Next Blockbuster Movie "Darbar" Announced For Pongal 2020

The actor will be seen playing double roles in the film. An IPS officer in the first role and Social activist in a second role.

South Indian superstar Rajinikanth is all set to come up with his next blockbuster movie Darbar which directed by AR Murugadoss. Rajnikanth will be playing two different roles in the film. Reportedly, he will be seen as an IPS officer in the first role and a social activist in the secondary role. Now it has been confirmed that the movie will be released on the festival of Pongal in 2020.

The film producers have posted the official poster of the movie with its release date. The poster of the movie indicates that the movie could be the story of a cop. The poster also has a catchy line, "You decide whether you want me to be good, bad or worse" and designs of the IPS shoulder pin, police dog, a handcuff and couple of guns. Along with this, it features the bearded, dashing with spectacle personality of Rajnikanth.

The poster also indicated that the story of Mumbai, because of the Gateway of India design. In the last film "Thuppakki" made by the director, Murugadoss was based in the metropolitan city. Darbar is the first tie-up between the superstar and Murugadoss. Actress Nayanthara is the leading lady of the film.

Singer and composer Anirudh will be scoring the music for the movie. Rajnikanth's last film released on Pongal was Petta, which was directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the production house of Sun Pictures. With Ajith's Nerkonda Paarvai releasing on 10 April 2020. Exact ten days before the release of Darbar. Vijay's Thalapathy 63 will be releasing on Diwali 2019. So there are high chances of Rajnikanth's Darbar will get Solo release. On the technical front, the film has Anirudh as a music composer, Santosh Sivan handling cinematography, and Sreekar Prasad as the editor.

Actor superstar Rajnikanth started his career primarily in Tamil cinemas. He was one of the highest paid actors in Asia after Jackie Chan in 2007. The Government of India has honored him with the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016 for his contributions to the arts. At the 45th international film festival of India (2014), he was conferred with the "Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year".
