Ramya Krishnan To Reprise Tabu’s Role In The Telugu Remake Of “Andhadhun”

Ramya Krishnan, who was last seen in critically successful webseries Queen (2019) wherein she played the former actress and late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa with elan, is being linked to the much-awaited Telugu remake of National Award-winning Bollywood film Andhadhun (2018), originally starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in principal roles.

According to reports, Ramya Krishnan has been lined up to reprise the character which award-winning actress Tabu played in the original movie. Director Merlapaka Gandhi is calling the shots for the remake. The remake rights of Andhadhun have reportedly been acquired for ₹3.5 crore by Shrest Movies. Telugu actor Nithiin is playing the lead role in the film, while his father is bankrolling the project under his banner.

If reports are to be believed, the makers had initially approached Tabu to reprise her role in the Telugu remake as well. However, plans to rope in her fell through due to the high remuneration quoted by the actress. The latest we hear that the makers have now approached Ramya Krishnan for the role.

As per reports, Ramya Krishnan has shown interest in the film, but she is yet to sign it on the dotted line. The gossip going around is that the talented actress has demanded a huge amount of money to come onboard as she will be essaying a crucial character in the film and the entire story revolves around her. The news is yet to be confirmed though. But it will be interesting to see if the makers agree to her demand or opt for some other actress.

The makers are, meanwhile, busy finalising the rest of the cast and crew. Other details about the project are yet to arrive. The team may start shooting for the film after the Coronavirus lockdown is lifted and the situation returns to normalcy.
