Rajinikanth Starrer “Annaatthe” Shoot Cancelled Due To Coronavirus?

Rajinikanth was last seen in “Darbar” which failed to click with the audience. He will next be seen in “Annaatthe” which will be his 168th film.

Rajinikanth, who was most recently seen in director AR Murugadoss’ cop-drama Darbar (2020), is currently shooting for his 168th film. Titled Annaatthe, the movie is being directed by well-known Tamil filmmaker Siruthai Siva. Though nothing much is known about the storyline of the film, some insiders reveal that it is set in a rural backdrop.

Rajinikanth started shooting for the film at the Ramojirao Film City in Hyderabad. The shooting was going on in full swing. However, it has stopped now. According to reports, the shooting of Annaatthe has been put on hold because of the spreading Coronavirus which has taken the entire world in its grip.

As per reports, two schedules of the Rajinikanth starrer have already been wrapped up, and the team was planning to kick-start the next schedule in Kolkata and Pune. However, due to the Coronavirus scare, the team has decided against going ahead with the shooting schedule in the aforementioned cities. They have, in fact, decided to continue the shooting at Ramojirao Film City in Hyderabad and plan to wrap it in the next two months.

Apart from Rajinikanth, Annaatthe also stars Khushbu, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakash Raj, Sathish and Soori in important roles. The music of the much-awaited upcoming movie has been composed by D Imman, while the camera has been cranked by Vetri. Produced by Sun Pictures’ Kalanithi Maran, the film is scheduled to release in Diwali 2020.

Interestingly, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has also cancelled the Thailand shooting schedule of his upcoming film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai due to Coronavirus scare. He will now finish the pending schedule of his in Mumbai itself. Directed by Prabhu Dheva, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is scheduled to release on Eid 2020.
