Gopichand To Share Screen Space With Rajinikanth In “Annaatthe”?

Gopichand, one of the popular actors working in Telugu cinema, has been signed on to play an important role in Thalaiva Rajinikanth’s 168^th offering, titled Annaatthe. The film is being directed by well-known filmmaker, Siruthai Siva, who has previously helmed a number of successful Tamil films, including Veeram (2014), Vedalam (2015), Vivegam (2017) and Viswasam (2019). According to sources, Gopichand has just joined the cast of Annaatthe and will be seen in a role which he has never played before in his career.

Gopichand, who has been working in Tollywood films for several years now, is teaming up with megastar Rajinikanth for the first time. The talented actor is yet to start shooting for his portions in the movie and is expected to join the team soon. However, an official statement confirming his association with the project is yet to be made by the makers.

Talking about rest of the cast of Annaatthe, popular actresses Meena, Kushboo, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh have been roped in to star opposite Rajinikanth in the film. There is no official word yet on their roles though. The supporting cast includes the likes of Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, Vela Ramamoorthy and others.

The pre-production work on the project has been going on for over six months now. The film is a rural entertainer. D Imman will be composing music while Vetri will handle the camera. Ruben will edit the flick. Kalanithi Maran is backing the project under his banner Sun Pictures. More updates on the project are expected to be out soon.

Megastar Rajinikanth was last seen in cop-drama Darbar (2020), directed by successful filmmaker AR Murugadoss. The film also starred Nayanthara, Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar in important role. Released with great pre-release buzz, the film failed to live up to the expectations of the audience.
