Mohanlal Superhit Film Lucifer's Sequel "Empuraan" Teaser Launched

Actor-director Prithviraj has got the best take off to his directorial debut in the form of Lucifer. The Mohanlal starer action drama was accepted wholeheartedly even after mixed reviews from the critiques. Now to complete the success story, the actor turned director has presented the audience with more reasons to cheer for.

The films end sequence had clearly suggested that the movie could get a sequel. The same was hinted by the director too. In a very recent press meet held by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Antony Peeumbavoor, Murali Gopy, and Mohanlal announced that there would be a sequel to the movie and the pre-production of the same is about to kick start very shortly.

The movie managed to cross the box office collection of 200 Crore mark, a feat that was yet to be achieved in the Malayalam Film Industry before Lucifer's release.

During the press meet the makers made a very surprising announcement that even though the film is getting a sequel, but the name of the film would be different. Prithviraj revealed that the title of the sequel is Empuraan. The title means a man who is larger than King but lesser than God.

The same was explained by the director during the press meet too. Also revealing about the schedule Prithviraj said that the shooting for the sequel will start by early next year and their target release would be by the end of the year.

After Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded this would be the first time that the actor Mohanlal would be seen to portray an underworld don. The character in Lucifer was much darker and much stronger than Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded. The audience would be eagerly waiting for this sequel to hit the screens.

Director Prithviraj Sukumaran not only helmed the movie but also played a crucial role in the movie, portraying Lucifer's aide Zayed Masood. Music Director Deepak Dev too was applauded for his breathtaking underscores of the film.

With Vivek Oberoi being killed during the climax sequence, it would be interesting to see who will be roped in as the replacement for the actor. Vivek Oberoi's acting was also much praised adding a much wanted intense and depth to the entire film. The long associate of Mohanlal, Anthony Perumbavoor, will again finance the flick.
