Karthi is presently riding high on the massive success of his films “Kaithi” and “Thambi”. Buzz has it that the actor is joining hands with PS Mithran for his next film.

2019 has been a wonderful year for Tamil star Karthi who received great success at the box-office. In 2019, the actor was seen in three high-profile films, namely Dev, Kaithi and Thambi. Dev, helmed by Rajath Ravishankar, did not work at the box-office. But his other two releases – Kaithi and Thami – did not only impress critics but also went on to do great business at the box-office.

Based on a historical novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy, the period drama also features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, and others. The first schedule of the film is being shot in Thailand.

If you follow box-office clashes between two big films, you would remember that the Karthi starrer Thambi hit the marquee on the same day as Sivakarthikeyan's Hero (2019). Despite being pitted against each other, both the movies went on to do well at the box-office and had a good run.

And now, according to reports doing the rounds in the Tamil film industry, Karthi has given his nod to star in Hero director PS Mithran’s next directorial offering. Reportedly, Karthi will star working on the yet to be titled film right after wrapping up Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan.

Karthi, the youngest son of actor Sivakumar and younger brother of Tamil superstar Suriya, joined the film industry in 2007. He made his acting debut with Paruthiveeran and has featured in a number of successful films ever since. Some of his box-office hits include Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Paiyaa (2010), Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), Siruthai (2011), Madras (2014) Oopiri (2016), Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Kadaikutty Singam (2018) and Kaithi (2019).
