Karthi is rumoured to be joining forces with filmmaker P.G Muthaiah for a project to be bankrolled by 2D Entertainment. He may start filming for it right after completing Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan”.

Off late, Tamil star Karthi is being linked to a couple of high-profile projects. A couple of days ago, we reported that the handsome star is in talks to star in Hero (2019) director PS Mithran’s next directorial offering. There is yet not any update on whether or not the two could manage to lock the deal. Meanwhile, the latest we hear that the actor is rumoured to be joining hands with filmmaker P.G Muthaiah as well.

Yes, according to reports doing the rounds in the Tamil film industry, Karthi is all set to team up with Komban (2015) director P.G Muthaiah for a film. His superstar brother Suriya will produce the film under the banner of 2D Entertainment. If sources are to be believed, Karthi may start filming for the first schedule of the untitled film right after completing celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s much-talked-about historical drama Ponniyin Selvan, which is currently being shot in Thailand.

Karthi also has one pending project that needs to be completed. We are talking about filmmaker Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s Sulthan, starring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. The actor has wrapped up a few schedules of Sulthan. But still, it will be really interesting to see how he manages to shoot simultaneously for so many projects.

If Karthi manages to strike a deal with Muthaiah, he will be the second director to direct the actor for the second time after renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam. Karthi made his acting debut 12 years ago with Paruthiveeran (2012) and has never worked twice with any director. But things seem to be changing fast for him. The actor has to his credit such successful films as Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Paiyaa (2010), Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), Siruthai (2011), Madras (2014) Oopiri (2016), Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Kadaikutty Singam (2018) and Kaithi (2019).
