Arvind Swami, one of the most versatile actors of Tamil cinema, has signed up for an upcoming multilingual biopic. We are talking about Thalaivi, a much-talked-about biopic based on the eventful life of late actor-politician Jayalalithaa.
While National Film Award-winning Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is playing Jayalalithaa in her biopic, Arvind Swami has come onboard to essay the role of actor MG Ramachandran.
He even starred opposite her in a series of blockbuster films. It has been now revealed that Arvind Swami, whose last offering in Hindi was coming-of-age Dear Dad (2016), will play the role of MGR in Thalaivi.

Thalaivi will be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Kangana Ranaut is leaving no stone unturned in getting into the skin of her character ahead of its shoot. From learning Bharatanatyam, Tamil and sitting through long sessions to get the prosthetics right, the actress is doing it all for the project. To be directed by AL Vijay, Thalaivi will be produced by Shailesh R Singh. It may enter theatres in 2020.
