South film industry superstar Vijay Sethupathi teams up with the director Delhiprasad Deenadayalan for his upcoming film Tughlaq Durbar. The film is yet to start the shooting but Vijay Sethupathi will be playing another offbeat role in this film, reports reveal.

And in an exciting development, the makers of the film have made a major announcement about the film today. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has been signed on to play the female lead character in Tughlaq Durbar. It will be Aditi's first film opposite Vijay Sethupathi. Tughlaq Durbar is being jointly produced by 7 Screen Studios and Viacom 18.

Aditi was last seen in the film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam which was directed by Mani Ratnam. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam tells the story of three brothers who engage in a power struggle for control over their deceased father's criminal empire.

She played Parvathi, one of the eight lead roles. Aditi Rao Hydari was paired with actor Arvind Swamy. Meanwhile, her other co-stars of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam included Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Silambarasan, Jyothika, Dayana Erappa. The film had a worldwide release on 27 September 2018.

The film opened to the audiences worldwide on 27 September 2018 to a positive review, with critics praising the direction and performances. It received criticism for lacking strong women characters.

With Govind Vasantha in-charge of music and Balaji Tharaneetharan penning the dialogues, the political fantasy, produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, is expected to go on floors soon.

Now, Hydari is set to star in Sudhir Mishra's political thriller film Daas Dev, which is an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's 1917 novel Devdas. She will be seen essaying the part of Chandramukhi in the film opposite Rahul Bhat. Aditi Rao Hydari was also part of Telugu space thriller film Antariksham 9000 KMPH.

While Vijay Sethupathi is one of the top actors of Kollywood and one could say in South Indian cinema itself when it comes to completing and signing one movie after another. Currently, his films Laabam, Maamanithan, Sangathamizhan, Kadaisi Vivasayi and a few others are under various stages of production.
