Ariana Grande & 2 Chainz’s Collaboration “Rule The World” Help Put The "7 Rings" Controversy To Bed

“What points do I get off snapping on Ariana or dissing her, I do not get anything off that”, 2 Chainz opened up about his decision to work with Ariana Grande.

2 Chainz just released the highly-anticipated music video for Rule The World featuring Ariana Grande on 11th March. This music video also marks their second collaboration following 7 rings plagiarism scandal, which drew comparisons to 2 Chainz’s Spend It. For those who don’t know, the remix comes after Ariana was accused of copying 3 other songs including 2 Chainz’s song.

Instead of dissing her on the social media platform, he decided to contact Ariana through her manager to talk face to face, and the two ended up recording the remix of single Rule The World.

Directed by Sebastian Sdaigui, the music video witness 2 Chainz and Ariana traveling decades back to perform at an underground jazz nightclub in Los Angeles. Ariana plays a glamorous lounge singer while 2 Chainz appears in a white double-breasted suit and then joins her for a performance.

During one interview with Genius, 2 Chainz shared the reason why he decided to collaborate with Ariana instead of tearing her down or making any public statement about the 7 rings failure. He said,

Their collaboration first came about due to his long-term connection with Ariana’s manager Scooter Braun. He shared that their meeting had cleared up everything that was happening and this also established a mutual understanding and genuine connection between them, leading to their unexpected collaboration.

The rapper also talked about the biggest lesson that he took from collaborating with Ari in an interview with radio.com. He said,
