One of the most common, and also the biggest mistakes people would run into is trying to contact your now-ex and try and talk to them. You would probably trick yourself into thinking that "one more conversation can save this love" or something similar, but this won't work. As a habit, you two might talk, and meet up, and even reconnected because it feels familiar.

But this won't do you any favors in the long run, and you two would probably end up split again, thus, doubling the pain. Furthermore, if he was the one that broke up with you, trying to talk to him is just a sign of desperation which can seriously hurt your self-esteem.

2. You want to stalk his social media

Back in the days, ex-partner would hardly ever run into one another, and you would never get to know what's going on with their lives. These days, however, as social media is almost unavoidable, it can be an agent of chaos after your breakup.

Nothing is worse than seeing memories of your past love every time you check your phone. So, if you truly want to move on, either block your ex or keep off Facebook for a while.

3. You try to date again too soon

The healing process takes time, especially if it was a tough split. If you don't wait long enough before dating again, you'll probably be doing yourself a massive disservice.

You might think it may be better to find someone else to mend your broken heart. But if you're not careful, you might risk making the same mistakes again. Reflect and come into terms with your feelings first before you get back out there.
