Richard Gere Welcomes His Second Child At The Age Of 69

Nothing could stop the American actor Richard Gere from being the father again even when he’s going to turn 70 next year. Alejandra Silva, his second wife, lately gave birth to a baby boy. This is the first child of Gere with Alejandra. The actor already has an elder one with his ex-wife Carey Lowell.

The Couple Asked For Blessing From Dalai Lama

Alejandra Silva, a Spanish activist and publicist, confirmed the news of her being pregnant last September. The 35-year-old publicist shared a picture on her Instagram, in which the couple is being blessed by Dalai Lama.

“A very special moment just a few minutes ago… Getting blessings for our precious to come.. we couldn’t announce it before telling HH Dalai Lama.”

Not only being a Buddhist, but Richard Gere also has a longtime friendship with the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet.  

He Has Officially Confirmed The News

Gere’s spokesman lately has confirmed the arrival of his second son last Tuesday. However, he did not provide detailed information such as the baby's name or his date and place of birth.

While Richard has a son with his ex-wife, actress Carey Lowell, Alejandra also has a son from her previous marriage with ex-husband, Govind Friedland. After finalising the divorce with Govind, she got married to Richard last year after 3 years of dating. Alejandra’s father is the former vice president of the Real Madrid Football Club, Ignacio Silva.

He Was Sued For "Stealing" A Project From His Partner

On the work front, Richard was in trouble with Random Acts Entertainment earlier this year because he sued them for extorting. His producing partners, however, counter-sued him for “stealing” their project.
