BREAKING: Wife Of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Confirmed Positive For COVID-19

The wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, confirmed positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Thursday, according to a report from the New York Times.

PM Justin is in self-isolation after his wife developed flu-like symptoms and was tested for the coronavirus after attending a speaking event taking place in the UK. He will be quarantined for 14 days.

In a press release, the PM’s Office stated that Sophie has got a test for the virus after her symptoms emerged last night following the return from her UK trip where she was doing speaking engagements.

Even though the prime minister currently shows no symptoms, he’s now self-quarantine until his wife’s test results are back.

The release shares that the doctor advised him to continue his daily activities during the self-monitoring time. However, the PM still opted to self-isolate and decided to work from home. He will spend the days in phone calls, virtual meetings and phone calls from home. No one is an exception even world leaders.

Not just this, the PMO also stated that all in-person meetings which were slated to take place on Thursday and Friday for the first ministers meeting among Trudeau, the territorial and provincial premiers and federal officials are now being postponed.

Explaining further the PMO said the government continues to base all the decisions from the well-trained public health officials and medical professionals in order to protect Canadians’ well-being and also minimize the risks of this deadly virus to their country.

They also urged their citizens to take the necessary precautions and seriously follow medical advice to stay safe and this is also what the PM Justin Trudeau and his family are doing currently.

A man (76) who was residing in Karnataka was recently confirmed as the first COVID-19 fatality in India. The total number of cases has now reached 70. In other European countries like Italy or Spain, there is a surge in fatalities in recent days and the governments of these countries have also imposed lockdowns. Meanwhile, the US has put a ban on travel from virtually all of Europe.
