Janhvi Kapoor & Ananya Panday In Race To Romance Vijay Deverakonda

Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday are two of the most popular new actresses who have entered Bollywood in recent times. While Janhvi Kapoor debuted with Dharma Productions’ Dhadak in 2018, Ananya Panday also made her silver screen debut with a Dharma Productions’ film called Student of the Year 2 (2019). With their respective debuts, both newcomers proved that acting runs in their blood.

The latest news has it that Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday are running in a race to bag the lead role opposite Vijay Deverakonda, the popular South Indian actor who shot to overnight fame with his blockbuster film Arjun Reddy (2017). Titled Fighter, the upcoming project will be directed by successful filmmaker Puri Jagannadh. Interestingly, Karan Johar, who launched both the actresses under his banner, has joined forces with Puri and his partner Charmi Kaur to present the film in the Hindi market.

A source close to the development tells an entertainment portal that the high-profile project is not only being designed as a Vijay Deverakonda blockbuster, it will also be Jagannadh Puri’s comeback to Hindi cinema after his failed attempt with (Amitabh) Bachchan’s Buddha Hoga Tera Baap (2011) eight years ago. The source goes on to add that Fighter is a big Telugu-Hindi film and the makers want a leading lady who can draw in the audiences alongside Vijay.

Some industry insiders reveal that Karan Johar has suggested the names of both the actresses. So, it could be either Janhvi or Ananya, depending on whose dates match with the leading man of the film, Vijay Deverakonda.
