Janhvi Kapoor Turns From Dreamy To Baddie In New Song Panghat

Actress Janhvi Kapoor has shared the first track from her forthcoming film Roohi and her looks from the MV. Starring the 23-year-old star as a woman who is possessed by a spirit, Roohi is scheduled to go on floors on March 11.

In the new song Panghat, she first appears as a bride wearing a red lehenga. The actress dances with her co-actors Varun Sharma and Rajkummar Rao in a palace. However, within a few minutes later, the party is hijacked and a ghost “took over” her body. That is when Janhvi Kapoor in Panghat avatar transforms into a creepier one.

Donning black with a crystal crown, Janhvi Kapoor looks stunning and mesmerizing in her dark makeup. She manages to pull it off in a chic way with smokey eyes, large curled hair, and nude lips.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor in Panghat first look was dreamy as she had full lashes, glossy lips, and rosy cheeks.

Time and again, she completely does the best job in lifting the heat bar and boosts it higher especially in makeup. When the star coupled her statement matte red lips with curly hair, full brows, and bronze-washed lids, it was a true match in heaven.

For the unknown, Panghat is composed by Sachin-Jigar who has also crooned it with Divya Kumar and Asees Kaur. Amitabh Bhattacharya penned the lyrics. Moreover, the opening line takes inspiration from the iconic verse of Amir Khusro,

“Bahut Kathin Hai Dagar Panghat Ki”

Talking about the song, producer Dinesh Vijan shared,

"After Stree’s album became an overnight sensation, we wanted to push the envelope further with Roohi, and on listening to Panghat I knew we had hit bull’s eye! The song has immense repeat value. The number is fun and snazzy, but comes with a very novel and fresh appeal." 

In fact, Roohi is created based on the lines of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree.

Meanwhile, Hardik Mehta is in charge of directing the flick. It is the first collaboration of Janhvi and Rajkummar and the second one of Varun and Rajkummar after Dolly Ki Doli.

Roohi is the very first big Bollywood release after the lockdown. According to the schedule, it was supposed to hit the theaters in June last year. However, it had to halt due to the ongoing pandemic that stirs the entire world.

Now, it will also be the first movie to arrive in cinemas after the ministry of information and broadcasting enabled the opening of cinema halls across the country. With the safety protocols that is put in place, the theaters will work at full capacity since February 1.
